My book club read this month was a Danielle Steel book of our choice. I selected a recent release from the worldwide bestselling author, The Duchess. I was quite taken in by the beautiful cover that features an aristocratic woman in an eye-catching hat. I was also in the mood for a historical fiction novel and The Duchess seemed to fulfil my needs.4/5().

This is a review about the book and in no way my opinion or feelings towards its subject Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, simply because the author forgot that this was supposed to be a book or a story rather about Camilla and not Prince Charles or even a platform to spew venomous hatred that Penny Junor carries towards Late Princes Diana/5.

Praise for The Duchess “Georgiana bursts from the pages of Amanda Foreman’s dazzling biography like the force of nature she undoubtedly was–passionate, political, addicted to gambling, and drunk on life. This is a stunning book about an astonishing woman.”–Simon Schama4/4().

The Book of the Duchess is the first The Duchess book work of the English poet Geoffrey Chaucer (l. CE), best known for his masterpiece The Canterbury Tales, composed in the last twelve years of his life and left unfinished at his death.

The Canterbury Tales, first published c. CE by William Caxton, became so popular that Chaucer’s earlier work was overshadowed, only receiving Author: Joshua J. Mark. This book is cobbled from a huge bibliography that covers the last 14 per cent of the book. The Duchess is a good lady who works hard.

It gives very actual information about Camilla and gets really boring half way through when it vears off onto other people who run charities that the Duchess is patron of/5().
